FEED MY LAMBS (Part One)

My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.  —John 10:27

Throughout Scripture, believers are referred to as lambs and sheep. Within the Word of God, as in nature, the dissimilarity between lambs and sheep is simple: sheep are mature, and lambs are babies.

In its first year of life, a lamb requires gentle care and feeding, subsisting only on milk. Once a lamb matures, it's able to handle solid food and become part of a flock...

RESTING UNDER THE BROOM TREE

In 1 Kings 19:3, we read about the prophet Elijah fleeing to the wilderness after receiving a threatening message from Jezebel--a Phoenician princess who became the wife of King Ahab of Israel. Jezebel was a worship...

As my husband and I were driving north through a narrow mountain...

"For there stood by me this night an angel of God

to whom I belong and whom I serve..." Acts 27:23

As I was growing up, my grandparents, Fausto and Anna (Cassiani) Berardinelli, often talked about taking me to Italy to show me the towns where they were born. Even after I married, they spoke of someday traveling with my husband and me. Unfortunately, their dreams of us traveling together never materialized.

As the years passed, my husband and I traveled every year...

"Whatever you're meant to do, do it now.
The conditions are always impossible."

That quotation, from Nobel prize-winning Doris Lessing, is on an old,  curling post-it note above my writing desk. It’s been there awhile. It’s given me strength.

The quotation nicely encapsulates what I’ve come to accept: that if you’ve decided that what you’re meant to do is write, you must write where and when you can.

Because the conditions are always impossible. Our lives are often full t...
